RGV HIE - Rio Grande Valley Health Information Exchange

Several organizations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley have been investigating the need for a local health information exchange in the area. After a great deal of research and collaborative teamwork, it was determined that a regional HIE would be beneficial for the area.

In May 26, 2011, An agreement was entered into by and between the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) an administrative agency within the executive department of the State of Texas and the Rio Grande Valley Health Information Exchange, a non-profit health information exchange created to serve an agreed geographic area.
